Welcome to the Robot Builder

This tool lets you create a virtual robot by dragging and dropping parts onto a canvas. You can also run commands to make your robot perform actions. The short guide below explains the interface, available commands, and quick examples.

Getting started

  1. Open the Robot Builder web app.

  2. Drag parts from the palette into the canvas to assemble your robot.

  3. Use the command input to control the robot.

Interface overview

  • Palette: contains robot parts (head, arm, wheel, chassis, obstacles).

  • Canvas: center area where you assemble your robot.

  • Command area: enter single or multi-line commands to control the robot.

Available commands

  • move N — Move every movable robot part horizontally by N pixels.

    • Example: move 50 (moves right), move -30 (moves left).

  • stop — Stop the robot (informational).

  • avoid — Simple obstacle avoidance: detects nearby obstacles and nudges movable parts away.

Buttons: Execute / Stop / Avoid / Reset / Delete / Save (quick actions).

Editing & saving

  • Click a placed part to select it. Press Delete or click Delete to remove it.

  • Reset clears the canvas.

  • Save exports the current layout (download starts).

Tip: Try placing a wheel and an obstacle, then run move and avoid to see how avoidance works.
